Energy Efficiency and Micro Generation Research Project Invitation – East Border Region invites you to attend their closing conference for the Energy Efficiency and Micro Generation Project on Wednesday 26th November 2014 in Dundalk. The conference will promote and celebrate the success of the project based on the capital works of the 9 ‘Exemplar projects’ within the East Border Region. Attendees will also discover the results of the monitoring of the projects to date and will also learn about the technologies employed to achieve these findings.
Keynote Speaker – Andy Pag, Innovative Eco-Adventurer
Andy, a global authority on sustainability, spent two years driving around the world in an old school bus powered by used cooking oil. This journey was one of a series of experimental expeditions searching for a way to travel sustainably and which has taken him closer to understanding what energy efficiency really means. Andy has driven a chocolate-powered lorry to Timbuktu in Mali (a world-first carbon negative expedition) and organised the ‘Grease to Greece’ rally for cars fuelled on restaurant scraps. Andy is an engineering graduate and former TV producer and award-winning investigative journalist and currently works for the BBC.
The conference is a great opportunity for members of the public or local business people to hear all about the journey East Border Region have undertaken with this project and learn lessons for how you can replicate the success (and avoid the pitfalls) of this project in your buildings, to save on your energy costs, whilst reducing your carbon footprint. Whether you represent a local authority, are a construction professional or simply want to make you home more efficient, this is an event not to be missed.
