One year on from Patsy and the search is on again…
“People referred to me as Business Person of the Year when greeting me,’ the words of Patsy Kelly, last year’s main recipient at the annual Business Awards. Last year’s winner was a popular choice with Ulster Herald readers as Patsy received hundreds of congratulations cards which were all displayed in Kelly’s Inn. The annual Omagh Business Awards are a central cog in the local business community for recognition of dedication, commitment and success. Organised by Omagh Chamber of Commerce and the Ulster Herald, the search is on once again to celebrate the success, talent and all that is good about business in the Omagh district. The recipients of the eight award categories will be announced at a gala dinner in Kelly’s Inn on Friday, October 25th 2013. By entering the Awards you can raise your profile, prove your excellence, acknowledge your team efforts and impress partners and clients.
On offer this year is the Retailer of the Year, an award which is up for grabs among retailers of all sizes displaying ambition, energy, skill and vision to scale the heights of business success.
In the Excellence in Customer Service Award, the judges are looking for customer focused businesses who are committed to the highest levels of service to each and every customer.
The Business Practice Award seeks out businesses, regardless of size, leading in terms of customer focus, innovation and business development.
Businesses who have come into existence in the past two years can compete for the Best Start-up Business Award, while gongs are also on offer for those demonstrating Excellence Through Marketing, Growth Through Exports and Best Eatery Award.
Highlighting the benefits of the Awards, Nigel McDonagh, Ulster Herald title editor, stated “this is a great opportunity for Omagh businesses to enter a local awards initiative that will recognise and reward, success, talent and all that’s good about business in the area.
Vice President of Omagh Chamber of Commerce, Julian McKeown said, “The Omagh Business Awards are a recognition of the entrepreneurs and businesses in Omagh who have made things happen. These are firms that have excelled in customer service, marketing, export, business practice and innovation,” he explained. “They have all met their challenges head on and continue to play their part in creating a vibrant enterprise economy here in Omagh.”
