And recently nineteen83 ran a photoshoot with Miss Northern Ireland as their model at the Ulster American Folk Park. Mr Grew says, “Social media has been very successful as I post items away pretty much every day but it’s due to the work we do every day on the site. “We keep our prices as low as we can but do not compromise on uniqueness or quality.”

Spires Vet Clinic


Spires Vet Clinic, at James Street in Omagh, prides itself in being the only clinic in Tyrone specialising in small animal care. Since setting up in April 2009, vet James Callion has seen the business grow to include 3,500 clients and as a result, the clinic has taken on another vet, Louise O’Hare.

Whites of Omagh, located at Bridge Street Omagh, was established over 55 years ago and provide a leading service in toys, cookware, gifts, art & crafts and hardware products. As well as using social media and local newspapers, they market their Christmas and savings clubs for the busy gift and toys departments and also employ a graphic designer to help them design ads that make the company stand out.

There have also been great theme nights including opera, comedy, jazz and blues. Each event provided a fork supper, dessert and selection of wines.

L’Artisan Café provides home-made scones, breads and tray bakes with a gluten-free range of foods. With autumn here stews and hot pots have been added to an already classy menu. Loughlion Design


Loughlion Design, at Omagh Enterprise Centre, produce quirky innovative products within many different markets. The current product, ‘Frogjaw,’ is an innovative piece of kitchenware, which allows the user to attach existing utensils to pots and pans. It also enables the utensils to be propped up off the work surface, which increases hygiene and allows those with poor dexterity to carry out basic food preparation tasks.

Since July 2012 it has sold 7,400 units and today is stocked in high-end kitchenware retailers throughout Ireland and in London. The product was selected to showcase at the London Design Festival as one of the Top 30 up-and-coming designs, and was shortlisted in the Top 25 most innovative start-ups in Ireland by the Irish Times.


Hebe Aesthetic and Anti Ageing Clinic


Hebe Aesthetic and Anti Ageing Clinic, based at Omagh Enterprise Centre, offers a wide range of aesthetic and anti-ageing procedures. The clinic was established in 2012 by Dr Gabriela Mercik and procedures on offer include derma fillers, botulinum toxin, nanopeptides mesotherapy and non-surgical Beauty Face Lift by PDO threads.

Nanopeptide mesotherapy is a procedure, which employs painless micro injections of a composition of vitamins and nanopeptides into the skin, which can reverse the ageing process by around 20 years. The firm’s key objectives are: to establish a centre of excellence in Omagh through training nurses and doctors from Ireland and the UK; and through presenting new techniques of anti-ageing medicine in SWC Omagh. Over the next 12 months, they plan to increase the number of patients by 100%.


KES Solar


KES Solar specialise in the installation of state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic systems and combine them with other ingenious and technologically advanced components so that customers get the very best out of their solar system.

Launching in a Portacabin, the company has expanded to take up modernised premises in Drumquin Enterprise Centre and within the past 18 months have installed 60 systems all over the country. The company now employ 30 of a staff, as well as a network of field sales representatives and operate a fleet of ten vehicles including their own install lorry. KES Solar is the first company in Northern Ireland to be able to offer ‘Free Solar’ to their clients via a £5 million London investment fund and have also secured a number of large public sector contracts.

Contemporary Heritage


CONTEMPORARY Heritage is a specialised building company who construct high quality builds for developers as well as private individuals. The research and development project that Contemporary Heritage is putting forward is a system called Frostmaster. It consists of a heat source installed in the roof space which is automatically controlled by a frost stat, so that the heater only comes on when temperatures drop below a certain level.

Frostmaster would have a far reaching impact on a variety of markets including NIHE, housing associations, landlords, private home owners and primarily insurance companies. The company has spoken to local insurance agents who believe it could significantly reduce premiums. The firm’s credibility in the market place is reflected by the fact that 90 per cent of their business is by ‘word of mouth.’


Sperrin Environmental


Sperrin Environmental, based at Castleroddy Road, Omagh, is involved in the stainless steel and fabrications business. After 15 years experience in installing energy recovery systems across Ireland, the UK and Europe – which were supplied by an American company – they decided to design, develop and manufacture similar systems here at home.

As a result of being involved in energy saving installations, they turned their attention to providing energy solutions for the meat, dairy, textile and poultry processing industries. They have successfully built a direct contact water heater and now want to further develop the flue gas economiser for a wide range of applications with particular emphasis on industrial steam boilers. The company is in discussion with leading food groups throughout Ireland and the UK, and believe there is a significant gap in the market for industrial energy saving solutions.


Todds Leap


Todds Leap is Northern Ireland’s leading outdoor activity centre. There are 20 different activities on offer to suit people of all ages and additional facilities include conference and training rooms, log cabin accommodation and a fully-licensed restaurant.

The company also specialise in the manufacture, distribution and installation of racking and shelving, and also sell hire and service Land Rovers, modified 4x4s and speciality vehicles for off road use. The firm now plan to be the first company in Europe to manufacture a controllable human Gyroscope for the leisure market and the emerging space tourism industry. The Gyroscope will be a fully controlled and measurable device that stays within the user’s comfort limit, or can be increased according to tolerance for motion sickness and G-force. The unit is also fully mobile and can be transported anywhere in Northern Ireland.

Boyd Bedding

Boyd-BeddingProviding poultry and equestrian bedding this Omagh company has customers ranging from factories throughout Ireland to racing stud farms world-wide including those owned by Chelsea billionaire owner Roman Abramovich and the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Al Maktoum.  Boyd Bedding products have the highest possible health standards in place on their ‘Bluefrog’ shavings ensuring that horses throughout the world get the best protection and care. So highly regarded is their produce that Boyd Bedding was asked to provide shavings for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic games. The quality of product from the Virgin pine timber in Coillte Forests has led to a year-on-year increase in sales figures, with almost 50 per cent of the business in export sales.  Boyd Bedding supplies their equestrian product Bluefrog to the very top trainers in Ireland and across the globe.

Heavenly Tasty Organics

heavenlyHeavenly Tasty Organics, based in Omagh, provides a range of fruit and vegetable purees, and yummy meals for babies aged from four months onwards. All products are 100 per cent organic, dairy free, with gluten-free options also available. The customer base ranges through multi-national stores to markets all over Ireland, Britain with outreach to Europe, Bahrain and the Middle East. Sales have increased by more than a staggering 450 per cent in the past year due to a number of changes within their business structure. Approximately 75 per cent of the sales are in export.

The outsourcing of products has led to a greater concentration on sales and marketing with excellent results. The entire company branding was redesigned enabling Heavenly Tasty Organics to compete with larger more established brands as it goes from strength to strength.


All-Beverage-ServicesSelling and servicing equipment for the food and beverage industry, All Beverage Services has captured the prestigious contract for super giants McDonalds, Ireland. The contract involves installing new blended ice machines in every store throughout Ireland as well as being the provider to hugely prestigious companies such as KFC, Burgerking and Coca-Cola. Sales & profit continues to grow with a strong bias on export sales. A totally innovative company, All Beverage Services has re-invested profit to enhance its service to customers. With more than half of its sales in the last year in the export market, with its e-commerce website, the sales export figure is set to rise even more.

Home market sales have also expanded rapidly which combined with exports sees All Beverage Services building an excellent reputation locally and abroad in the food and beverage industry.


Retailer of the Year Award Nominees




Russells are an independent retailer specialising in footwear, ladies and children’s clothing, catering for the whole family. Their main customer base is in Omagh and surrounding districts but they regularly supply to customers worldwide. Russells was established over 100 years ago and is Omagh’s longest established shop, proof that they already satisfy customer needs. This has been achieved by adapting to customers ever changing expectations, for example they have changed the product mix, continually introduced new suppliers & stockists and upgrading of the shop regularly – three new shop fronts in 30 years.

The proprietors aim to have a member of staff in place for every customer and a customer for every member of staff, thus providing every shopper with their own personal assistant, and the owner is hands-on so is available each and every day.

Specialising in wedding accessories and bespoke customised shoes, handbags and fascinators, it provides a professional design service unique for each customer. Sobelle consults with each customer on their own individual requirements and can provide every accessory necessary from head to toe.

Since opening in November 2011, it has been a personal dream for the proprietor to create a product and service that is unique and available to all customers. The firm aims to grow their business through their website and customising service in order to increase the customer base. They also promote their accessories through social networking sites and increased marketing and advertising and plan to move to larger premises once the opportunity arises.
